1970 challenger gas cap

I need a picture of a 70 gas cap. Is it vented or sealed . Thanks Rob

Painted or chrome. Import car or U.S. If U.S. what state was it made for ? 2 types based on state emissions like California.

Pic of my original gas cap, 48 state May 70 production date 70 Deputy challenger. Sealed to top of filler neck, vented through trunk floor to inside of right rear frame rail.
"Yeah, it's hopped up to over 160........"

So in 1970 all states used the non vented cap, and California used a vented cap ?

I have a chrome and a painted that was with my 70 Challenger. I've learned the chrome ones were dealership replacements for the boneheads (me) that seemed to always leave them laying on top of the pump. That way we didn't need to get them painted and they looked mildly better than the red shop towel hanging out of the filler tube. I'll gladly get you some photos if you still need them.

I know one gas cap is a one year only thing (70early 71maybe)I was leaving early the next day to buy a bunch of stuff . And wanted to make sure that I was buying one year only parts for my 70 challenger. I've had a few extra parts over the years, kept the best, only to find out there's a big difference between 70 and the later years

You are correct, the chrome was a parts counter replacement. You could buy a primered replacement also, but then you'd have to paint match it to your car.
As for the different "ears" on the back of the cap, you can unscrew them and attach them to the painted or chrome cap of your choice.

I can't say that for sure, but there were some emission related stuff done then to meet California emission standards that didn't apply to the "other 48 states". I believe fuel tank venting was one of them (?).

Thanks  @7E-Bodies    for your offer. I was lucky on the box lot, it had brackets that were on backorder that I needed, as well as a non vented gas cap. thanks again.

Those are some great pics! Did that vent line just run under the quarter extension? Was left exposed to open air or?

The vent line goes into the passenger side rear frame rail.  So when your fuel system is overfilled, gasoline drips out of your frame rail.
