i am in the process of fixing an Rally Hood for my Challenger. Something fell on it and dented it pretty bad but I picked it up cheap enough to try and fix it. Using a Stud gun I have pulled most of the dents straight. One area starting above the "D" "O" letter is a large droop more than a dent. I can pull it straight but the when I release it drops back to the droop. If I brace it from underneath it looks really good. I recall a caulk or seam sealer used on my Charger hoods but deployed like a thick button between the frame and sheet metal.

Anyway i think if I had something I could put under the sheet metal while it was propped up , that would harden enough not to sqeeze out when I release the prop it would work great. Is there such stuff available?  I used seam sealer on the new joints but that is to thin.

Thanks for any advice, hate to waste a good rally hood.

It sounds like the metal has stretched out too much to just be popped out. I am not a body guy at all, but I worked in a body shop out of high school doing odds ad ins. My boss showed me a couple things and one was popping a dent out by shrinking the metal. You take a torch and get it real hot, almost cherry red, then take a wet cloth and rub it around the the heated area to cool it quickly. This is supposed to shrink the metal.

This might ruin the paint so not sure I'd recommend it. Maybe others can chime in.
