I had a hood latch support stud snap off. It's the top one that sticks through the upper radiator support.  Any suggestions?  The radiator support is already painted.

I usually drill through the backside and tap it 1/4-20, then thread it a piece of threaded rod to the desired length. I tack weld from the backside and grind, but you could likely get away with some good thread locker, if you're worried about burning the paint  :dunno:

I think I'm gonna drill, tap, weld, grind and repaint.

I'm pretty sure I got one of those from Tom at R/T and ground off the old one and welded in the new one and yes repaint

I ground it flat then drilled it out.

Then I tapped the hole 1/4-20 as original. Then I used body panel adhesive to set it in place. Turned out solid.

Now just a small amount of touch up work and issue resolved. Thanks everyone.

Dumb question, but why didn't you put the Allen socket on the backside out of sight ? :dunno:

I'm gonna stuff it with metal to metal filler. Either way works.  You do make a good point though.
