My car originally came with wheel moldings but were removed at some point before I bought it. I've all but given up looking for NOS. So I'm considering buying this set. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-1971-1972-1973-1974-Plymouth-Cuda-Wheel-Opening-Moldings-Package-70-71-72-/192175347313?fits=Model%3ACuda&hash=item2cbe8b1671:g:2eAAAOSwqrtWn33k&vxp=mtr

Has any one used these and how did they fit?

Do they fit nice with the body lines?  I have a nice set that came on my car. The issue I notice is the bend at the body line is not sharp enough. They want to try and mash into the paint at those sharp points. I was going to use my shrinker on the inner flat part and try to tighten the bend more sharp. But if you have used DCS one's and they fit nice I might go that route.

I don't believe you'll ever find a set that fit perfect, even the originals never fit "perfect". :alan2cents:

If you want a perfect fit, you would have had to been adjusting your body work prior to paint.

I realize that you couldn't do what I did with mine. You'll have to do a search and find the best deal you can, if asked, a lot of the hobbyists here will help you in your search. I took off my original WOM and had them professionally cleaned up and repolished. So I know they fit properly because they came with the car originally. Good luck with your search.      Thanks,   Al

When I bought my car it came with an original set of new NOS moldings.  However, they didn't fit correctly (the rears at least) without a lot of pushing, bending and swearing.  Finally had to drill a couple of extra holes and install more screw to get them to contour to the body shape.  :pullinghair:  Eventhough they were NOS in the original packing, the finish was very poor, IMHO.  Now that they were pulled off to paint the car I have been thinking of re-installing the originals although they are pretty banged up.  Can anybody tell me were the originals are SS like the window modelings, etc.  I was able to sand and polish the window moldings to a mirror finish and don't have any objection to doing the same with the wheel moldings if possible.   :notsure:

You know I believe (and I have been known to be wrong) that they were stamped from aluminum. They seem to ding up fairly easy, however that was the whole idea of thier existence. It's easier to replace these trim pieces than to replace a fender due to some errant door shot. Not only are they great fender protection but all polished up they really add to the appearance. That's the reason instead of replacing mine just took them off and had them cleaned and polished.

They are anodized Aluminum....

Last few cars I've welded up all the original holes then using clamps to secure the molding fit it to the body as well as possible then mark & drill a hole, screw it down, re manipulate the trim, mark the next hole, repeat... By doing this you can get them pretty tight to the body...  A little massaging of the trim might be needed..

Thanks Wild R/T and 70/6chall.
