Did a minor repair to a stripped, clean and prepped tail panel after two coats of DP40 with 401 activator and about a week's cure. Repair area was then scuffed with 180. 1/16 or so Evercoat Rage Xtreme applied and sanded to perfection. Then since there were a couple of spots at bare metal again, I sprayed another two coats of DP40/401 to seal it. Did I screw up?  Should that have been a different primer?  @Cuda Cody ?

Not at all, you're fine. Just prep the area before you do your next recoating/refinishing.

DP40 can be used as a bare metal primer and also as a sealer (see specs sheet)  :D  So yes, it can go over Rage just fine and it's the correct way to do it.

I lucked out. It appeared to be getting sucked up by the filler. Kind of left a ghost image over it. Just a little lighter. I didn't see anything on the DP or Rage spec sheets. Learning all over again. Thanks!

your next step is surface primer, Epoxy primer does not fill. Etch primer is also good on bare metal.  :alan2cents: I prefer Etch personally.

Super. Thanks all. Lots of experience, but long ago...different chemicals then.  A tad cheaper I might add. Wanna get this right.
