Hinge Pin Question

The pins that came in the hinge rebuild kit are different than what was in the hinges.  I don't know if those were original either, I think not. First the two short pins for the upper hinges were different lengths than each other.  I cut the longer one down.  Second, the knurl on them is shorter in length and won't tie what I guess is the stop, to the base.  I don't know what is correct or if it matters.  The old pins splined the two parts together and the stop couldn't rotate freely.  Which way is correct or required?  If I have to I'll go back to the vendor.  The fit in the bushings seems to be OK.  Head styles are different too.   I'm not doing a number's resto, but that was surprising considering it isn't a cheap parts store kit.  Hope you can see what I'm talking about in the pic.
