Hood Latch Assemby Plate - Date Code?

Can someone please decode the number on the Latch Assembly Plate on a 1970 Challenger? Thanks

I don't think that is a date code....I think that is just a "in house" identification number used by the stamping vendor. You'll find them all over your car on various stamped metal parts.

I worked 18 years in a stamping plant. We stamped numbers into all the parts and it had nothing to do with dates, it was all about lot numbers, part numbers, which shift etc...that way we could trace where a bad part came from.

This is just my opinion, things could have been done differently 50 years ago
