I believe this is a 70 Challenger hood latch hook,
What does the 4 digit number indicate?

Sorry for the ignorance, why is the date good?

Because it's early enough in the model year to be prior to the build date of a lot of 1970 Challengers :alan2cents:

People who are looking for "date coded" parts want something dated prior to the date code of their car....Because this is a one year ONLY part, it's better to have an earlier date like yours then a later date like 1650 or something later in the model year.

would it be good for my 702 scheduled '70 R/T, or too early?

Thx for the replies, guess I need to start a WIW thread.

I think in this case, eBay might be a good bet to maximise your sale price...you don't know how many people are looking for one....

I've picked them up at Carlisle for as little as $10 but have seen them advertised for as much as $125  :dunno:

I guess you could list it for whatever you're comfortable with ? :bigmoney:

I wonder how far ahead did they start manufacturing and date stamping some of these pieces.
@anlauto...Alan how early was that 70 Challenger hood latch I sent you.
Something like April or May 69.
I understand it would be a first year item.
Did you save the picture, I cant find it right now

anlauto

My memory is terrible...I can't remember the date yesterday let along on a latch I bought from you :haha: :haha:
I looked through the pictures I have and came up with nothing as well :dunno:
