Removable nut plates! Didn't you just win the lottery? Why not carefully measure the true centre to centre distance between the holes, blow those buggered nuts off and mig on a couple of nice, new 3/8 nuts and then go to town, which in your case would be Mitchell, sooooo......  ;)
