Inner Fender Access Cover Finish

Need help with the correct finish for the inner fender access covers  on a 1970 AAR Cuda.  Were they originally painted body color, plated, or left unfinished?  See pictures below.

 Semi-gloss black I believe.

Semi gloss black and typically with undercoat overspray on the outside.
