This stud/bolt seems like a weird design. Anyone have any idea why it's like this? I was putting it back on and the washer part came loose. I didn't torque it down hardly at all. Seems like it wasn't meant to have any torque on it. Why not just use a regular bolt?

I like to use original pieces if I have them, so I will tack it back together and reuse it.

Use a 1/4-20 X 3/4 carriage bolt.

That looks like a regular bolt with the head broke off  :looney:

@Burdar its a 70 challenger.

@anlauto the head originally looked like it was peened over a washer or something. It was a little round nib. SOme of the pics just show it replaced with a regular nut
