I am prepping for the new roof skin.   Good thing I did this roof skin change.   The were also big issues in the rear window frame.   The underside of the rear roof support has some rot.   The top side is worse,  but that is easy to fix.   The underside in the rear has the triangular barbs that I assume are for attaching the head liner.   This area in the center really needs replaced.  Any advice on reproducing the triangular barbs or something else to serve their purpose?
Thanks.

Might be easier to replace that rear bar than to repair it. I found one on ebay a few years ago and I see them for sale from time to time. You could also make a "parts wanted" post.

:iagree:  Yes, the triangle points are to hold the headliner and you will need them.

I spent about an hour and made a punch and die to punch the triangular barbs.  Seems like it worked well enough.  I still have to see if I can weld the pieces in without ruining them.

That looks like it will work perfectly!  Nice job.  :clapping:

I got the 2 pieces welded in that I made.  I think they turned out OK.  The triangular barbs that I made are a little smaller than the originals, but hopefully, they will work OK.  This is not the best picture.
