Replicating body paint overspray

When replicating paint overspray I assume it is much easier done when using single stage paint.  Anyone have any experience and tips when using base/clear?  I can't wrap my head around the process without making the urethane dip primer too glossy.

I can't remember who's car these photos are of.  I'd give them credit.  These results seem right on the money to me.

If anyone has any more great example photos to share that would be appreciated!
