Forgive me for having to ask as I bought this project already disassembled. What is this oval hole for? 1970 Challenger RT. I need to know if I should make alterations before spraying epoxy. It'd be nice to know the proper specs and if it takes a grommet/plug etc. Right now I'm only guessing fuel vapor related. Any help and/or photos appreciated.

Fuel vapor vent grommet.

Yup.. As long as it's not a California car..... If it has N95 on the fender tag it will have a vapor separator instead of a vent line...

You solved it @Dakota
When you posted the part, it looked familiar. The old boy I bought this project from tossed in cases of replacement parts. Sure enough, it was in one. Mystery solved. 35 years away from these cars has left its mark. Thank you!
