Sport Mirror - How to remove mirror

Looks like the mirror is press fit into the housing. Any tricks on removing?

I was thinking if maybe the glass was removed you would know more of the story, maybe the ball stud looking thing actually screws into the housing :huh: that's just a wild guess

That scares me you  guys haven't seen that before. Car was built in April 1970.

Two questions:

- What do other 1970 Challenger mirrors look like inside?
- Anyone successfully remove the mirror glass without damage? It's date coded and I don't want to break it.

The car was in a passenger side accident in the late 70's, so the mirror may be a replacement? Do 1971 to 1974 mirrors have a different construction than 1970?
