Polishing question

The stripe is vinyl (?), not painted on. If I'm polishing and waxing with a DA polisher will it hurt the stripe? Or should I go along the edge of the stripe by hand?

I would not let any polish get onto the vinyl.  it can leave a white chalky residue even if you wipe it off.  ESPECIALLY on matte finish vinyl

Depends on what type of polish but to be safe tape it off.

That's what I was going to say and would only add, do the area right by the stripe by hand, as a polisher can also lift a tape edge and after it's coated the backside of the tape with the polish- "she's a no gonna sticka no mo!"
