I had to remove the windshield trim to deal with a leak issue. Now I can't get trim to sit down in the middle at the top. I loosened it off and made a second attempt but that didn't help. It doesn't flutter on a drive so I'm not going to lose it but it doesn't look good either. Any tips?

it's a bit hard to make out with the reflection/gloss of the roof.
Looks like it is not being grabbed by the clip (s).  I would say you need to take it off and try to bend the reveal clip so it grabs the trim.
While it may not flutter for a short drive i would be worried the air could suddenly grab it just right (or wrong) and pull it off, or bend it.

It's relatively easy to whack the mldg hard enough to crack the w/s Murray and I'd roll the car into Stratford to a good glass shop and I'll bet the lads have it back on in three shakes of a dead lamb's tail- as my old Granny used to say.

I agree. I broke a brand new windshield in our 71 Challenger by trying to install the trim myself.  The installer offered to install the trim with new clips for like $25 and I said no. Called him back the next day to get another new windshield installed. That time, I paid the extra to have him install the trim.
