Window Trim goo

Some of my window trim had a rubberized material in it. I think it was only the front windshield and not the rear. Is this normal? I had what I believe is a replacement vinyl top which probably means the window was removed. Not sure if the rubber stuff was added then or if it was factory. I haven't seen ANY mention of it when looking into replacing the windows. Can anyone confirm or deny?

It's not factory, could have been a dealer's fix for a leak....

OK, thanks. Yeah it is a bunch of black hardened rubber type stuff. Like I said, it looked like someone replaced the vinyl top with a custom top. I suspect it would have been done then.
