Windshield Washer nozzles question

Were these painted body color or were they left bare metal or.....?  I'm thinking they were probably painted body color at the same time the underside of the hood was painted, but it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong.    Mine had so much overspray on them from a couple of re-paints I have no idea what their original color was.

They were NEVER painted body colour. Plated cad silver.
