Anyone ever try this?? I'm very tempted in order to work on the underside of the car.

Goody did that with his build

With enough helpers when you tip it on it's side, I see no reason why that wouldn't work. Obviously, you would need to be careful so you, your helpers, and your car isn't damaged. I'd probably over design it a bit for strength.

That's kind of a neat idea. and if the car is a bare shell, its only a few hundred pounds, so it wouldn't have to be super sturdy.

I would like to see more of that contraption.

Where does it mount?  I can see the rear obviously.

I am planning to mount to the bumper holes in front and back. I figure it should be plenty strong there. I sent goody a PM to see where he mounted his.

Is goody's restoration on here or were the pictures lost to the cc.com server erase?

I copied these pics a few years back from Goodysgotcuda.

I think the word tip over says it all.  With my luck lately I can see it tip over on to me.  In all seriousness though I have seen it work before.

What did you attach to? Bumper mount holes??

Cbridgewater

It's turned over!!

Can you post some pics of how you mounted it?

That is awesome!

Simple angle iron in the front bolted into the bumper bracket holes. Angle iron in the rear bolted to bumperette holes, the welded some square tube and smaller angle to the larger piece so I could bolt the "assembly" to the rear bumper bracket holes too. Then just 2x4's and plywood. It's on a 72 challenger, and I'm sure the car dictates the set up for how the brackets bolt up. Just day one of removing undercoating in this manner has been a tremendous help!
