Thanks guys, seems the older I get the less my girl gets to go out and play. I think she did well , not having a bath in quite awhile. No I did not take her down the 1320. Asked the wife if she wanted to make the run....  :unbelievable:  There were only 2 other E bodies. 72 & 74. Anyway seems one of the judges had a JS27 back in the day. We chatted a bit as we were packing up to leave. Some very nice AMX's were on site (close to Kenosha go figure). I could see that as an addition one day when I have the room. Of course the wife says you could of had that already (she's BIG on me retiring). But I'm to the point of "gentleman" recycler, going to work, hanging out, getting in my guys way, ect.  I'm thinkin it's time to ditch my 750 and make the move to an 850. Only thing the wife said was "more power". I'm very lucky, she's has never asked what things cost.  :Thud:
That being said, a fun day! Tons of thumbs up going down I94, even truckers giving her the horn toot.  :burnout:

How is that Mopar/AMC day nowadays at Great Lakes dragaway?
I remember it used to be a pretty good event back in the day. But it seemed to be fading, and the last time I went might have been 7 or 8 years ago. Maybe 50 cars in the show then.
Not worth the 60 mile drive anymore I thought.
The Chicagoland Mopar Connection is sponsoring a club meetup at Byron drag strip August 12.  It would be cool if that grows into a full blown Mopar day in a few years!

Brad, I will say some years were pretty dismal. I've found that Saturdays are better than Sundays. Lots of AMC this year. Which is fine by me. First gen AMX's have grown on me over the years. But I will say there are guys I used to run in too, that I haven't seen. Also seems as WMMC is not involved with it anymore, so its got a little different flavor. The under the lights show at Dodge city coming up soon, but I wont make it this year due to a prior commitment. Every year they ask me to join. But I always pass. I wish Chicagoland wouldn't have moved the spring show to Downers Grove. Farther than I wanna go at this point. I will say I hit few shows anymore, guess Ol' BIGS is just that. And to hang out all day without diversions has fell out of favor w me.

The spring CMC show was always pretty far for you I'd think?  It was at Koller Dodge in Naperville for many years, then moved to one of the Naperville High Schools grounds for a while after Koller closed up. Then it went to Bartlett HS for a while, one year at a Pheasant Run in St Charles and another year at the Baltria vintage auto brokerage dealer across from the now defunct Pheasant Run.
Now it's moved east to Downers Grove which if anything is more accessible as its near I-355 tollway.  The date has been moved to the beginning of June instead of the weekend before Memorial Day weekend it always was before.
We've met up a few times at the Fox Lake CMC show the end of June.  That one is still going, same location in Veterans Park that its always been.  I was there a month ago.
You're not thinking that is the one that got moved to Downers Grove are you?

BIGSHCLUNK

Actually that was my thinking.... OK so the Verterans Park show still goes? Yes we have met there more than once for sure!

Yes, the Chicagoland Mopar Connection Fox Lake show is still going on, it has always been on the last Sunday in June and it's always been at Veterans Park in Fox Lake.  It will be interesting to see when it gets scheduled for 2024, as June next year the last Sunday of the month is the 30th. So will the show be on the 30th, or the 23rd? I guess we'll see next year!
I am a long time member of CMC and have been a little frustrated by how the show schedule has changed in recent years.  The spring show was in May, but there was bad luck with weather for a couple years and attendance was dwindling. Didn't help that the location kept moving around too, 5 or 6 different locations over a 20 year period! They moved the show to a couple weeks later to the beginning of June in 2021, and the weather for the first 3 years of this new date has been great, so that is good. The location at a Strip mall in conjunction with a vintage car friendly fast food place helps too.   However, it conflicts with Mopars in the Park in MN which some Chicago area Mopar people travel to, and also means there are now 2 CMC shows in one month.
In the meantime, Chryslers at Carlisle got moved back a week, to the same weekend the CMC's biggest show, which is in Belvidere at the Boone County fairgrounds, has always been held.  So the Belvidere show was moved back a week, to the weekend after 4th of July.  The end result is that 3 of the 4 CMC car shows are all compressed into a 5 or 6 week period in June and early July instead of spread out over a 2 month period mid May through mid July.
CMC is a big club with 4 chapters covering different areas of Northern IL and each chapter hosts a show.  The Fox Lake Chapter hosts the show at Veterans Park.  Even if at some point they have to find a different venue for their show than Veterans Park, the Fox Lake Chapter's show will always be in Lake County and convenient for southeast WI Mopar enthusiasts to attend!   :drinkingbud:
