I usually let these slide, but it's for sale & asking $57,000 ......

QuotePlum crazy RT SE Challenger, 440 4 bbl, rotisserie restored. It has 370 miles on restoration. This car has been restored to original condition including correct hoses and spark plug wires. The car is all original except for the engine. The engine was replaced with an original 440 4 barrel. The rest of the car is numbers matching. The car is immaculate, including the under carriage. I had the headliner redone and the vinyl top professional replaced.

since it sounds like a recent restoration, what would lead to the $$$ being spent & allow these flaws?  :clueless:

a '70-'71 e-body with 15" wheels had E60-15 POLYGLAS GT tires with any engine except HEMI (HEMI used F60-15s) - NOTHING used F70-15 POLYGLAS as OE, I'm not sure why they are even reproduced  :dunno:
and will someone PLEASE  :whiteflag: reproduce some decent trim rings

ALL vinyl top 1970-'71 Challengers used a "WIDE SEAM" top (with the exception of "gator grain" V1G)

white door panels with a black interior  :looney: now I see why there was NO white interior offered in a SE - the black carpet on the bottom, JUST LOOKS WRONG!  & it almost appears as the pics tried to hide them  :takealook:

spare wheel is FoMoCo or GM (10" hub cap) & painted "orange"  :stop:  I know there are lots of threads on the subject, I just hope nobody paid big $$$ for the one in this trunk

under hood     NO core support or cowl blackout, "plum crazy" secondary latch, un-painted fender bolts, B/C-body disc brake booster

:iagree: Even more stuff wrong...dash frame sheen is off, hood latch and spring painted silver, exhaust tips extended too far, grille doesn't appear to have a black border, hood support bolts not painted FC7......nice steering wheel though.

Agreed: The paint and finish look awesome but when you ask that type of coin you need to research the details.

Unpainted fender bolts were always a hallmark of  Muscle Car Restorations (MCR) in Chippewa Falls WI.  They are a big shop been around for many years and drives me nuts every time I see one of the Mopars they restore as they never paint the fender bolts!  :headbang:

I saw this car several years ago when it was apart and for sale as a project.  It's a JS29N code car.  I'll be happy to check it out if anyone's really interested, but I recall the guys sketchy.   :alan2cents:

First off....when I see a long list of incorrect details like this I imagine is was done by a quality shop that restores ALL makes and ALL models of cars trucks boats etc...they can turn out quality work, but it's nearly impossible to know the correct details of every car. If correct details are your thing, then I think it's important to search out a shop that knows your type of car inside and out....

Secondly .... I think this car is priced okay at $57K despite all of it's issues (white interior panels have me stumped :looney:) I've seen similar cars priced in the $70s even $80s so if the body and paint work, along with rust repair and mechanical work was all done to a high level, I think the asking price is reasonable :alan2cents:

We'll have to agree to disagree. This two-tag car is much nicer and numbers matching. Was asking $48,000.

We all said that was a great deal when it was listed, so no argument there

Yup the members car is probably worth $15-$20k more than this one. This one doesn't even have a 383 in it.

Why would it have a 383 ? Ad says it's a 440 car with the wrong 440 in it ? :dunno:  or am I reading it wrong ?

FC7 looked at it and posted it's an N-code.

Oops....I must have missed that post....as long as he's certain it's the same car, then yes the asking price is on the high side... :alan2cents:
