Just curious on this but that looks like a full size spare with a cover on it. I thought all verts got the space saver with no cover.

Purple was a color that was said not to age well back in the day.  That car must have spent most of its life in a garage not exposed to weather or sun for the paint to have survived well if in fact its original paint!
The spare tires on convertibles were space savers.
Didn't A01 include fender mounted turn signal indicators in '71?
That car has been advertised off and on for several years.

If that is the original paint and it is an unmolested "survivor"  why is the fender tag black?

I was surprised to see no woodgrain on the door panels. I thought that was pretty much standard by 71  :dunno:

Hit 52,400 and didn't meet the reserve.  I think 52K is pretty right on for that one.
