A bill of sale car can be hard to deal with. I understand some states have no titles for old cars but some form of ownership as in NY a registration works as a title to transfer.  I did it twice to title in PA.  But just a bill of sale will not go here.  Also how do you know he owns it legally?

Yup: Us Canadians can't bring them across the line without a title. It's a pain and we have to pass up parts cars but it's a good thing really as at least you aren't buying stolen goods.

You could do what some guys I knew back in the day did in a similar situation. They pulled the engine/trans out of the Corvette they were bring back to Canada and then cut the car in half with a quick-cut and loaded the halves on a truck and declared them as "parts" . I guess it all depends on how bad you want something and how good a welder you are! LOL
