Was a shaker hood even available in late September of '69 on Challengers?  I know the availability was suspended early in production and not in production again until April of 1970.

The broadcast sheet is a 1969 form, but the printout  looks like it follows the 70 pattern. For example,  there is no "6" under the N96 field on line 9 of the sheet, but there is a "6" on line 10, in the radio section, where you would find the engine accessories section on a 1970 form.

You are looking at a original 426 HEMI Challenger R/T, factory Track Pak automatic, Dana 60, N96 Shaker hood car.

Of the total 287 1970 Hemi Challengers built this being an automatic is one of only 150 built and one of few N96 SHAKER HOOD

cars delivered with a power bulge hood! AMAZING, CONTROVERSIAL, RARE AND WHAT A CONVERSATION PIECE!!!

just like the 340 in the e-body, PLYMOUTH, kept the SHAKER hood's existence hidden from DODGE as long as possible & by 1970 new car introduction, DODGE was still trying to catch up

there are <12 SHAKER (N96) coded Challenger R/Ts known to exist with SCHEDULED PRODUCTION DATES before 10/15/69,
AFAIK none of them are survivors & none have proof of actually being delivered with a SHAKER hood * although some are "restored" and claimed as "original SHAKER R/Ts"  :foul:

car was at MCACN 2018 ***** in the "barn finds"  :takealook:

the N96 is there on the broadcast sheet & the R/T was actually built ~3 weeks late, possibly waiting for the SHAKER to happen

Thanks Dan. I knew I had seen that car somewhere before. November 2018

That is really cool!
Is it common for the systems to be crossed like that for a month or would it have been only a few days?

it appears 15,000 consecutive assembly LINE #1 vehicles were built using 1969 broadcast sheet blanks mid-September to mid-October

* I believe this to be responsible for the STANDARD but missing "M31" belt mouldings on some 1970 'cudas (same timeframe)

According to the add on eBay, it wa found with a 440-6 years ago. It appears that a "barn find" hemi was install to complete the illusion. I don't think a 66 block is even close to correct for a 70.

137582 ... since the VIN was publicly displayed while it was at the MCACN show I assume it's not as "classified" as the redacted fender tag pic would lead us to believe.  :pokeeye:
Cheers!
