 How rare is a 340 3x2 , 4 speed in a 1971 Cuda? I believe it's the E55 on the fendertag?
Thx in advance
restore it to a 10 drive down to a 6

Wasn't available as a 3x2 carb setup on a 340 in 1971. Note I have E55 on my fender tag and it came with a Carter Thermoquad 4bbl.

340 2x3 was one year only (1970) and only with the A53 Trans-Am Package.

But riddle me this Bat ... err ... ahh ... MoparMan ... if you added 2x3 to the E86 440-4, it gave you the E87 440-6; but if you added 2x3 to the E55 340-4, it gave you the E55 340-6?? What the?? That never made any sense to me. IMO, the Mopar "coders" should have coded it as the "E56" or something other than the same code for the 340-4. :crazytalk:
Cheers!

Tis' better to have owned classic Mopars and lost than to have never owned at all (apologies to Alfred Lord Tennyson)

Exactly rzero. There's 2 of the same codes one covers 3 years and one covers 2 years. Both different carbs. If it wasn't available in the 71, it shouldn't be included in the 3x2 code.
