On mounting the taillights do they all take a stud with the enclosed nut. I have two studs missing and the hardware kits come with 16 nuts no studs and 2 bolts. Wasn't sure if maybe the taillight grounds went thru two of the bolts.

Are the studs missing on both tail lights in the same place ? Picture ?  They always used studs on all models.

Just missing on the far left taillight. I don't see any threads for the ground bolts by the taillight.

My 73 has 4 studs for each light. Pics attached. Hope this helps.

Yep, 2 of your studs are broken off. Not unusual. You should be able to see that the are broken when you remove it.
They are a soft metal, not steel and so do not like to be tightened very much.
You can drill and tap the area to use a replacement stud, or  epoxy one into place.
The tail lights are grounded through the studs. It is a good idea to add a ground wire to the tail light sockets.
The fender washer clips are not recommended as they designed for a steel screw and don't compensate for vibrations and can cause a stud to fail. The factory nuts had some cushion to them to help absorb vibrations and not put a lot of stress on the studs.

This is where I grounded mine. Don't know if it's correct or not. The hole was already there and already had threads for a bolt in it.

Thanks for the pic. I'll check mine in that area.
