Did chrysler always just use 4 digits in their 10000 build date coding?   In other words i have an a518 automatic that lists the build date as a 4 digit number 1017.   Now 4 digits (9999) only gets you to Dec 12, 1988...  A518 were started in 1990...  so they would require 5 digits..  my A518 has a date on it of 1017...  do i assume a "roll over" so that it is actually 11017 which would then decode to sept 26, 1991.   (https://maxwedge.com/articles/10k.php)   Anybody know for sure?
