Broke down on the side of the Road today

I had a tiny weeping anti freeze on the T stat housing.

So I decided to re do the gasket today.
Put everything back together fired it up and everything looked alright.

Took it out for a short ride heading back.
All of a sudden, a back fire type noise and she  wouldn't start again.
Sounded like I still have spark but she just kept falling back on her face and dying.

Looked on the ground, there's anti freeze. Not a whole bunch but enough to be a concern.
The corbin clamp was slightly off causing a leak where the upper hose meets.

Called the Tow truck and put her back in the barn around 6pm.
Hopefully find out what caused it tomorrow. Ignition module perhaps?

Pull the distributor cap... Moisture in the cap = backfire...

It looked like it never got wet but I'll check.

I could still see anti freeze so I didn't loose a whole bunch.

FWIW I've seen caps that look 100% dry pop & fart terribly, hit it with air or WD-40 & it runs.. Then two days later it's popping & farting again.. New cap, problem goes away... Something to be aware of...

Cannot be the module , it is an FBO & they never fail I am told

Probably the quickest way to get to a rural area from where you live... But I'd deal with 17 & head over toward S/C, Watsonville & Pajarro Dunes... Lots of rural stuff or at least there still was when I lived there...

Too many people go to the beach every week-end and clog the roads.
Old Hwy 17/Soquel Rd. is closed because of the road washout this last Winter.

1st thing done was pull distributor cap. It was dry inside and out. No signs of anti freeze residue on it anywhere.
If it got wet, it would've left a slight greasy film I would've felt.

Next thing done:
Pulled the ignition module off and took it to A & M Motor supply. A reputable auto parts here in the bay area.
They tested the module and it showed it failed.

But Wait CP before you go try sticking me again!

So for the heck of it, I called Four Seconds Flat.com.
I spoke to Don and he was extremely helpful and concerned on trying to help me solve my issue.

He asked me to turn the key on and also check to see if the Rev limiter light comes on.
Then after, Crank it and see if the red light pulses. Both happened. If that's the case module is still working.
This makes sense to me if you ask because it would mean the electronics is doing it's job managing the signals.

Don said that if does this, then it's highly improbable that the module is bad.
Don pointed out that their modules are completely electronic so a typical module tester can't troubleshoot these properly.

Distributor was tight so it didn't jump. Forecore 80 wires in very good condition.
Definitely getting fuel.

Step 3:
Plugs all pulled. Number 1 and 4 were really black. 4 was soaked black and 1 was soot black.
The front plugs on the engine seemed to be the worst looking. I didn't pull number 7 since that would take an hour by itself.
Each spark plug I put in a narrow Tequila shot glass and soaked the electrodes in Acetone.
Then took a wire brush cleaned, re soaked then a light touch of sandpaper on the gap areas.

Re installed everything. Same sh!T! 
Cross firing or mis firing then Pop with flame out the carb.

Don called me back to check on my progress. He asked me to check the  screw on the reluctor gap and how the gap is.
Also substitute another coil. HP Cuda is going tom lend me a black Module I can try if necessary.

Need someone in the garage with me and the lights out to see if we get an arc cross firing.

Is your coil mounted stock or pointed up? I've failed 2 MSD coils the last few years by mounting them stock.

He feels he has the best ignition on the market.

If you were using his product prior to 2010, it's not the same as now.
