Anybody know what the stock compression ratio is on the 440???
The car I got has a 540 cam with 10:1 CR
I would think 91 pump gas is ok
Any input appreciated..

Advertised? Or true measured mathematically correct number?  Cause they aren't the same...  Then there's the question of what year? Standard or HP?  There were stock pistons at three different compression heights, cylinder heads with different chamber volumes and open or closed chambers....

Can't answer re compression ratio.  But my 440/512 stroker has custom Diamond pistons, Bullet custom roller cam with 234 intake and 241 Exhaust duration at .050 and .552 lift, Promaxx aluminum heads, Holley dominator intake and Quickfuel 880 CFM carb, TTI headers and 3" X pipe exhaust and it runs just fine on 91 octane.  :bigthumb:
