Yup!  And I was a part of that!  We had it unveiled at the MCACN show.  We had it covered up in the corner.  The dad had no idea until we took the cover off!  It was very emotional and heart warming.

They actually are from here in Chicago, so I see them all the time!

Great story, nice guy.....hate to rain on the parade.....but I hate the silver dash :barf:

HAHA  I knew you would comment on it.!

Hey...at least I waited a day....before saying something  ....I get the feeling that the kids dropped it off a shop that decided to make a bunch of mods without the family's input....looks like it could have a 5 spd....big brakes...big wheels...lowered...big exhaust......nothing wrong with any of that, just seems a shame on an original one owner car....I'm sure the old bugger would have been just as happy with it restored to stock.... :alan2cents: Just my opinion.....most likely wrong.

I would love to have that beautiful car, even with the dash!  And would be thrilled if my kids did such a generous act too.   Those wheels look great and it probably has better suspension than the stock factory which makes it even better to drive.

Yea..I agree I love those wheels, I have a set going on a 70 Challenger convertible I'm doing right now :drooling:
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

What a great story, good people and family! Heart warming story for sure. My wife loved it too.
I too love that car, stance, rims and who could go wrong with that color. Looks nice rolling down the road. Awesome

I would like to clarify a few details behind this restoration, My father played a big role in this restoration from the shop that was picked to the 17" wheels, T/A spoiler,Headers, and other minor modifications.  Yes it is lowered slightly but that was what he wanted. I nor my sisters made any decisions without his input.  My father bought this car brand new and he made "ALL" the decisions as it is his baby not mine. I will also note that he restored a lot of the components himself during the time the car was in the shop.

The only surprise to him was the finished product and not knowing the car was at a show for a surprise reveal

I love the look and stance of your fathers car.  :perfect10: Pretty much the way I would do it, so he obviously has good taste  :bigthumb: Cool too that he was part of the rebuild since he always wanted to restore it.  Thanks for sharing your family's story, Loved it!

Welcome Uncle B - when I saw the video of your family presenting your Dad with his finished Challenger, I was filled with overwhelming emotions. We ordered our e-body back in '71, but that is not the important part. It's the rush of the memories that come from building a life and raising a family, that the car is a part of, that made your family's story special to me. I am glad to have this chance to pass this message to you and your Dad. Thank you for sharing your family's journey.

Glad you joined and you will find this group of e-body owners a mixed group of purists and the sky's the limit in mods type, all with the same goal to enjoy their cars with owners from all over the world.
