Struggles continue - had a decent leak between the main case and tailshaft so the the transmission had to come back out the hard way with the floor jack which was exactly what I was trying to avoid with installing everything from underneath.  :crying: Ended up being a torn gasket that must of happened when my buddy was assembling it, all fixed and back in with a lot of swearing and wrestling to get the pilot to line up. Show this Sunday is now a no-go so I`m going to volt in the new leaf springs as well - part of the big snowball this has become - but it really is the logical thing to do as I would have had to get another alignment if I did it later on so at least now all the suspension will be done at once. I guess I have a new deadline at Lebanon Valley Dragway NY -

Hang in there, it will all come together. I have had a bunch of issues over the years and yes with cars wher parts were supposedly rebuilt including transmissions so I feel for you.

Most of us old timers have been there . . done that.  It can be frustrating but the end result of a completed drivable car is the goal and will bring a smile to your face when you get to that point!

:D
Drive it like you stole it . . . And they're CHASING you!

Ah, the ol "one step forward, two steps back" scenario that I am all too familiar with. I'm sure many members are also, welcome to the club.
(Raising my hand) Me too.  So true indeed.

Went through 3 brake proportioning valves and two master cylinders fighting leaks the whole way.  Thats a lot of brake bleeding, by myself.

And my 4 speed is gonna have to come back out also, even though it was rebuilt by a pro.

So, you're not alone, for whatever that's worth.   Hang in there.

Haven`t made any big progress but 4spd is back in and I`m picking away at getting all the small stuff buttoned up so I can hopefully fire it up soon. I appreciate all the words of encouragement.
