Looking for reputable media blasters in the San Antonio are to strip my 70 vert. Can't stand the "reviews" online as too many of them seem to be from friends and family or competing shops. I'd rather have people here, who have used a shop pass on that info.

I am in San Antonio also and have been looking around for media blasters for my e-bodies.

Like you, I have had difficulty sorting through the chaff found online.  It seems there are not
many of these outfits in the area to begin with, and the "reviews" on the net are all over the
place as far as negative/positive.   Very difficult to make any kind of decision.

A muscle/race oriented engine machine shop recommended Alamo City Soda Blasting a couple
years ago but now that I am ready to pursue it they seem to have changed owners and gained
a few more negative reviews.  They also do not seem to respond to contact attempts which is
a huge strike in my book.

I will probably go with this guy:

Reviews seem OK, he works on a lot of Mopar and has a few himself.   Met him at his shop and
he seems like a decent guy.   Not cheap, and by his own admission not fast but his work looks
good.   Pretty responsive to contact also.

If you come across anything else that sounds promising I'd love to weigh all the options, but so
far Dr. Blast looks the best in this area.

That cuda vert looks better than mine, that's for sure. He's expensive though. 9-11 hours for a "large" car, at 225/hr...  Is that normal?

Not sure what "normal" is for this, but it does feel a bit high...

He did explain that hand scraping the undercoat and seam sealer before blasting
requires a fair amount of time.

This may be a case of "you get what you pay for"  and/or he can charge more because
not many others shops doing this.

I would put some value on his experience with mopars.

Not a lot of options though it seems...

@RacerX  He has a point, undercoat and sealer dose burn up time. If you can do as much removal of that as you can will help. kerosene, a heat gun and a lot of rags will do the job.  :alan2cents:

$225/hr sure seems high. Ugly job to do though.

There is a guy in the county above me, that has a building certified to media blast. EPA certified, you can't just go to an open field and blast away anymore.  :alan2cents:
