I was about to re install my freshly rebuilt steering column in my 1970 Challenger and it looks to be about an inch too short to reach the steering box? I am using the original steering column and steering box that came out of the car. When re assembling as suggested by Cody in his video I checked the plastic rivets on the collapsible steering shaft and they looked good. I am now thinking that my steering shaft is partially collapsed and I never noticed.  Wondering if someone can tell me what the over all length of the steering shaft should be. The car is an auto 440 with a power steering gear box. Thanks again guys!

From the top of the crush can to the end of the coupler, the column for my 70 is about 45-3/4".  This is a 340 with power steering.

Thanks Dakota. Is the shaft all the way down in your coupler?

Measured mine and its 38 1/4". I think I will try do what Al suggests. Hate the thought of pulling it all apart and possibly scratching that new green suede paint. :crying:
