I have been looking on ebay at 340 oil adaptors. I noticed that some have different style attaching bolts and they were either made from cast iron or aluminum. I want to get the correct one for 340 and was wondering if anyone could share there knowledge on this piece.

Thanks Ken

Ken - I have a cast iron one on my 340 for a 70 Challenger that I believe is original equipment.    I found this information posted on "For A Bodies Only" site:

"Some of the aluminum are for magnum blocks they are different than the early LA. The offset on the mounting flange is different. I ran into this with my R-3 block. I had to find one for a magnum because the LA would not seal."

Direct Connection and Mopar Performance offered new adapters for the LA motor that were aluminum also. The originals were all cast iron to the best of my knowledge.

Thanks guys I also noticed the that the attaching bolt has a slotted hole or just a normal hole in the bolt. Which is correct?

Thanks

Dakota

Best I remember, there was a slot in mine.
