My overhead console light is missing the silver cover that shields the bulb housing (the brushed silver section in the photo).  Is this a separate piece that would snap in, or is it all one piece with the bezel and  missing it means it's not salvageable?  I haven't been able to find much info so far.

The chrome bezel cleaned up nice, I rebuilt the wiring, and have a new lense, but without that brushed aluminum piece it's obviously incomplete.

It just snaps in, or I guess I should say there are little tabs that get folded over to secure it to the lens.

It is just a cheap piece of aluminum.  It has about 6 little tabs that fold over to hold it to the assembly.  Most of the time the tabs are broken off.  I am sure if you were handy enough you could probably make something to work.  I decent one is few and far between.  I don't know why no one repos them.  The lens is being repo'd.
