Just thought I would share my experience with Bob and ABC Moparts for our fellow members. I saw Bobs add in the Ebody parts section. I gave him a call and he advised he would be attending the Nationals and would have some finished dashes I could see in person. Unfortunately he did not have a 70 Challenger 3 speaker AC dash finished or I would have likely just traded. But Bob walked me through the process and short turnaround time.

Once at the Nats, I did my first pass through the swap area for killer deals and was able to check out a few other dash vendors and what their work looked like. I ran across Bob not far from my spot and he was happy to answer any questions I might have. I thought the dashes looked good and he gave me all the details. So I went and grabbed my dash and a buddy followed me back. He gave Bob's dashes a thumbs up and I turned my dash over to him. We talked about what I needed and I even took a couple pics for a before and after comparison. Bob said it would be about 4 weeks and he would call me to finalize the shipping. He was very easy to work with. I even asked that he attempt to take off my old Challenger emblem and save it for me even though the dashes come with new emblems. He was happy to help and even said he would try to get me some pics of the restoration process if he could.

Sure enough 3.5 weeks later Bob called to get payment on shipping and I was surprised at the reasonable cost. I paid over the phone and he said they would work on the dash the next day. At the beginning of the following week I get an email from Bob that he was successful in removing the emblem for me. He would send it in a separate mailing. Also he included several photos of the batch of dashes with mine being produced. Dash arrived right on time. I will include some pics and am happy with the end result. Some of the dashes I have seen after restoration look really puffy but was pleasantly surprised this has a nice tight fit around the emblem and the steel frame.

In full disclosure, the dash did have a little adhesive stickiness around the vent area, but I was able to clean that up with a little glass cleaner. I suspect it was wiped down before it left but there was a residual spot or two in the corner area behind where the vent bezel would go. Also when I first got the dash I questioned the placement of the emblem. For some reason at certain angles it had a sight lean. Sure enough I got out the tape and it was 1/32 to 1/16 off. So I went back to my original photos and wouldn't you know it the factory emblem was the exact same way. Funny how your eyes can pick up such things. Its not something I will fret about. When I dropped it off the underside was bare steel and had some surface rust on it, but I could tell when I got it back that they had worked to remove the surface rust which I thought was cool. It was still bare steel like it was previously, but I went ahead and hit it with a few light coats of a metal color anyway. All in all, Bob was super nice guy to work with. The dash pad came out really nice and for the price to my door of around $830 complete, you can't complain. And did I mention he also mailed me the other old emblem! I don't have any affiliation with ABC Moparts and know there are also a lot of other great vendors out there. I have heard good things about Dave at Roseville and Just Dashes, but thought I would share the experience in case anyone else is in the market. I will try to post up some photos when I can.

Sorry, I had a terrible time getting the compute and pictures to cooperate. So I posted a quick slide show on the Facebook page. Here is the link, hopefully it works:

That, I do not know. When I was at the Nationals there was a guy with dashes from Ulimate Rides. The material looked fine but what threw me off was the emblem was some sort of flat shiny kind of cut out. It was very peculiar, but maybe it was only on there to fill the space temporarily for the actual emblem. Not sure. Otherwise there pad was nice and price seemed reasonable.

Definately not from the same manufacturer as Ultimate rides pads.
One thing I am a bit confused about.
One of your last pictures show the VIN area and YEAR ONE is embossed into the rubber.
About 20 years ago, Year One did a real nice pad with metal back, with their same logo embossed there, but after a period of time they discontinued their pads.
Was this one of the old Year One pads you happened to have and sent in for re-doing
or does Year One have a hand in this new one  :dunno:

the pad I turned over did not have any kind of YearOne stamping. So it was part of the restoration process. Why it is there I am not sure about. My guess is it is done at the same place as what YearOne gets or possibly what they formally used?

My UR dash also came with that flat cheap looking Challenger emblem. I quickly removed it and added a quality Challenger emblem that I purchased from Year One.
