I think it's a mental illness.
I'll never forget the time almost 30 years ago I went to look at a Challenger convertible for sale in a nearby upscale suburb. The decrepit looking car was parked in a driveway with about 4 other rare but non running cars, including a hemi 67 or 68 Coronet, 71 440 6 pack Challenger, and a Boss 351.
He said he had an AAR behind the house somewhere.
While talking the subject of a part came up, and he opened up his seen better days looking 2 car garage to show me the part.  I saw the rear of a Shelby Mustang poking out from a pile of junk.
Is that real???  I asked him.
His eyes got wide as he started ranting about how it was indeed and how he'd found it was a rare prototype 68 GT 500 that was actually built off a 67 as a test mule.  He'd been fighting with the Shelby club for some time to certify it and was very mad at them.
A few years later I saw him selling off stuff and he told me he was getting divorced.
The car I'd seen sitting under a pile of junk in a damp crappy garage later showed up restored in a Volo museum display of "1 million dollar cars".  Then 10 years later it showed up restored again part of the Styles collection.
So at least it got saved, I don't know what happened to him or the rest of his cars.
There is indeed too much drama about this RTS cuda.  It will eventually show up in a "how cool is that" MCG article, and a better written article in Mopar Action article.  It might get shown at Carlisle and MCACN, get some buzz for a few minutes.  Then fade into obscurity hidden away in some billionaires collection.
Too bad it couldn't have got sold to Juliano and displayed with the other 3 RTS cars.
In the overall scheme of things, only a slightly important event.

What a shame that Steven didn't get his shot at buying this car :andyangel: ....

....I already have lost all respect for the new owner and his ridiculous "stolen leaked photo propaganda"  :looney:

Steven is the only guy that would have made sure the car was saved correcty.
If I want to look at it I'll look at the original photos from 1970. I really don't care for people that perpetuate fake drama, it just taints the car. These are the type of guys that will swap in a genIII Hemi and mount some 17 inch radials on it. Like when the ballstud Hemi got lipsticked up and mounted into Hoovers sexually molested 69 Cuda.

Yeah it's terrible trying to have morals and ethics in the modern era with all the keyboard commandos.  Damn those of us trying to uphold the law and the owners wishes.

:iagree: no one's pointing the finger at you Ryan,  you're just stating the facts.....in my opinion, it sounds like the new owner is the drama instigator here, the more I hear about this story, the more I hope he did pay $2.5 mil for it....  :drunk: :haha: :haha:

I find it odd that if the new owner didn`t want any info leaked why invite a bunch of people who are "in the know" when it comes to rare Mopars to go with him to get it? I also find it a bit suspect that only one pic was originally leaked and now a few days later only two more.  As with most everything the true story will come out eventually.

Why are you the picture Nazi?  Where is the owner?  Why isn't the person that wants this covered up not here to address it?
Drive it like you stole it . . . And they're CHASING you!

Because that is what I was assigned to do.  I am the youngest and know "the internet" best, and I took the original pictures.

If all had gone according to plan, nobody would have known anything.  All these leaks are not intentional, there is no reason too, it doesn't do anything without information behind it.  Like screaming into a void.

So you took the original photos with your friends phone which was stolen at Autorama and now you are playing cleanup . . So who stole the phone?  Did your friend get it back or is it gone?  Did anyone try to track the phone?  I'm sure the whole story will come out sooner or later.  Still look forward to seeing the car . . Does it need restored?

I understand both sides here. New owner doesn't want his surprise ruined  but on the other hand it's out there already, embrace it. Let all the info out. People love this car and it's been hidden for so long. Ryan I know you said in due time and at the owners choice but that  boat has sailed unfortunately. Sorry your caught in the middle

The car has history I guess but I'd take any stock configured 'cuda over that one. The RTS cuda reminds of those 'custom' fender flared metal flake cars that were common for a while.
But the car beside it looks like it might be a pretty cool car. Does anybody know what it is?

Kinda looks like it could be a 30's BMW, maybe?
