How thick is the spacer under the carb for a shaker?

What do you have ?
There is too many variables to give you a straight answer. Stock manifold ? Which engine ? 440 shaker base or a 383 shaker base ? I have a 383 with a 440 shaker base and use a 1/2" spacer.
