Slant Six E-Bodies

How many of you still have a one that is alive and well or know of any that are still cruising around?

My father has one and enjoys the cool factor of having something different/rare although he goes back and fourth on eventually putting a small block in his.

70/6chall

I own a Slant6 '70 Challenger that is still alive and well. It will most likely stay in this state until I am ready to take the dirt nap. Another member on here is restoring a '70 Barracuda Slant6 you may give him a holler also, he is EC_CO. I have resisted the temptation to turn it into another V8 tribute car.

Yep. Thats me! All matching numbers still and has over 348k miles on her. Driver her 300 miles a week but due to traffic im in her for 10+ hours a week. I go from 0-80mph on a daily basis while still running a single exhaust, 1bbl carb, 14" tires and 4 wheel manual drum brakes. I wouldnt change it for anything. Lol

Great looking ride, 72fury!

That's awesome you daily it. My family is very much of the mindset of driving cars and not just owning something to make your garage look good. Definitely impressive having those miles on it and being in such great condition. What kind of gas mileage do you get out of it?

Depends on how bad traffic is. Lol. But i average 15mpg and thats only because of the 10 hours of stop and go traffic. If im cruising with no traffic and i keep her at 70 mph i get 20 mpg

I LOVE LOVE LOVE /6 E bodies!
Sold this one a few years back; factory FC7, white interior, black top - column shift. Was a REALLY cool car! If I hadn't just bought my T/A, I was going to be on the hunt for another slanty. They're a rare sight these days.

Wish I still had mine. It was the first of now nine. Oh the memories of an 18 year old cruising in that car.

My '70 Slant6 Challenger was purchased for me by my Father when I returned from overseas from a Dodge dealership as a used car trade-in. He told me you need a car so you can get a job (which I did). It had 40k miles on it when purchased, I then pressed it into life as a daily driver. So, from early 1972 to 2005 (when I retired it) it had enmassed a total of 562k miles now on the clock. 3 engines, 2 trans. and 2 rearends later it still shows well. Built off of the LA assy. line Monday Aug. 18,1969 as no. 113 the first day of regular production. It was first Cal. Registered 4-22-1970, then on to 1972 when I bought it. The six has now been Super Sixed and has Mopar elect. ign. and Hooker headers and real dual exhaust. 904 Auto. with B&M shifter and an 8 3/4 out back with 3.23 gear set. Go-Mango Orange w/ black interior. She still looks great no regrets here. Thanks Al

Is the super six the aluminum slant six?
