How to read this plug?

70 Challenger Lover

Hard to say since the insulator is so short. It doesn't seem bad. If anything maybe a bit sooty. I have never seen a plug in that cold a heat range though. Could be a longer insulator (hotter plug) would burn off that soot and the jetting might already be perfect.

Ha, ha: I read that it's time to install a new set.

The insulator definitely has problems.

What ignition system are you running, points, electronic? how meany mile's have you ran them? As sheldon  stated, time to install new one's. I would run it a bit, and check them.  :alan2cents:

This is severe detonation, possibly pre-ignition,  and may have already caused major damage to your engine.
Sorry, but you need to have your entire tune evaluated. Primarily timing, but of course also check your fuel mixture, carb or injection, then evaluate the heat range.
Don't change plugs and try and run it again until someone who knows their stuff has a look at the whole system.

Ok guys I'll fess up, the plug is out of the Amalie top fuel dragster.  Went to the  Sonoma NHRA nationals yesterday and after the first pass 3 plugs came out looking like the one above. These plugs are made for top fuel.
