At one time when I was 18 or so I had a 1963 Plymouth 4 door Savoy with a 225 slant 6 and "3 on the tree".  Had the exhaust/intake manifolds off to replace some gaskets.  I decided to unclutter it and make the engine run better. On the exhaust manifold, I cut out the center pot. Then brazed a couple intake runners (open on one end and something to bolt too on other)  that matched in size to the exhaust from some intake I found in junk yard onto each section pointing down of the now 3 into 1 exhaust manifolds. Now that I had dual exhaust on my slant 6 I added two Cherry bombs. I thought it sounded cool as hell like an Offy or something.  Everyone else was asking... WTF IS THAT ?!?!??   It lasted for about 1,000 miles before a braze broke, then I put the boring stock system back on.   I was pretty proud of my engineering skills, even if no one else appreciated it.  :D

Here's a funny one.  It was 1980, I was 15 and I just bought my first 1970 Camaro.  All my money was gone and sunk into the car.  My buddy and I were in my parents front yard looking at it thinking what's next.  It was all jacked up and I always wanted a chrome differential cover but again no money.  So I grab a can of silver spray paint from my dad's workshop and we began spraying.  Didn't think to mask anything off or even wire brush the grime off.  But we stood back looking at it and thought it looked awesome.  Job well done.   :haha:
