Hey Guys,

I have the Challenger & Barracuda Restoration Guide 1967-1974 by Paul Herd that is practically new, the pages still crinkle when you open it.  I don't remember what I paid for it and was hoping you guys could tell me what the value of it is before I put it in the "For Sale" section.  I can't seem to find it when I search Amazon or Ebay.  Let me know.  Thanks

Dave

Most of those older books don't have all the updated (more known to be correct) information, but since they are out of print and somewhat hard to find they can bring good money.  I think there were a couple versions of that book and if I recall the first printed was worth the most.    Sorry I can't help with an exact value.

like cody said a couple different versions,i think I had one of the earlier ones,if I remember right I paid somewhere around $35.00-$40.00 for it,that was mid-late '90's though, worth a lot more now I would think.i know I don't have mine anymore though, all my mopar mag's and material I had at a gm dealer I work at years ago through it all out,  :pullinghair: man was I mad.probaly had 150-200 mopar mags alone.

And the funny part is there's so much wrong info in the book I wouldn't give a dollar....

Daveh

I had a feeling that was the same book but does anybody have a guess on the price?  I just can't see the $243.00 price tag.

$40.00 is what I paid for mine if I remember correctly.

I have the Herd book, too.  I agree, it's go so much wrong info in it I don't use it much.  If I could get over $200 for it, I'd sell it in a second!  The Chilton books had better info than Herd's book.
Contrary to the opinions of some, I am not dumber than I look.

the $200+ pricing on out of print books is insane - it's valuation to keep high-end used book stores in business

here's one that SOLD on eBay for $39.95

Sorry he unknowingly bought it for $40. It might have $10-15 worth of pictures that of course nowadays you can simply find on the Internet.

I have a lot of these books, been collecting them for years now. Your all right about misinformation and how the authors tend to contridict each other, but the books are good to look at while reading in bed before turning out the lights. At very least entertaining, still you can revel in the fact that you know better.    Thanks,   Al
