What parts do you fear most being reproduced now not being made again?

Well,

We are getting into some years gone by, and it's gonna get more challenging from here on out.

What are you seeing that's next to go to ..."Mopar Heaven"

The nicest part I've seen come and go are the 70 Cuda parking lamp assembly by Mike at Be&A.  Those were much needed parts and were reproduced  just about perfect.  I cringe to think what part will go extinct next.

RUNCHARGER

Too bad there's never really been any correct 15X7 trim rings. One thing I'm finding as a repro parts seller is that for a lot of the older Thunderbirds and other Fords you can't buy new centerlinks and other front end and brake parts. That's a pretty serious problem if you want to drive your old, restored car safely.
Mopar is pretty universal in those items so hopefully it won't become a problem in the near future.

Having correct door panels is awesome, but if they ever stop producing them I don't see anyone ever doing it again.

Chryco Psycho

I sold a lot of the rear window louvers that were as close to perfect as I have found , my supplier stopped making them a decade ago , now that Dales is gone I am not sure anyone is making them

I was thinking if anything ever happened to AMD, we'd be in big trouble.  Prices for whatever panels are left would skyrocket.

Wow...bunch of negative Nancy's here :haha:  If you like the parts, need the parts, or want the parts, keep buying them and they will keep making them...

I don't thing BE&A going belly up and anything to do with people not liking and buying their products.... :dunno:
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

With every passing day when a new product comes along to supplement the current reproduction or OEM part, one of them drops off.  Up until two years ago, we could still purchase some of the same rubber extrusion and tubing that we use in some of the reproduction parts that we are associated with.  This November, one of the manufactures informed us that the pricing to purchase one of the more common window felt pieces would be going up 300% in cost.  There is no way that you can eat that much of a price increase and still retain your sales.  A secondary vendor can manufacture the piece at a 80% increase in price with a $2800 tooling cost and it will be at least the end of May before product is available.  And then you have the concern of correctness once it arrives.

People have to understand that in most products, especially those non wearable items do have a limited life span in the production cycle.  How many more panels can AMD forecast to sell for a 70 Cuda?  At a period in time, the demand will no longer justify the expense  to stock certain items.  At that point, the reproduction quarter will be elevated to the status of an NOS quarter which will only jump in price again.

I am amazed at how many things that Goodmark has dropped in the last three months.  Just because you see it available today, does not mean that it will be available next week.  Just remember back to the time when Precision who does most of the reproduction windshield and rear window gaskets went through new ownership and that side of the manufacture was dropped.  The 68 to 70 B-Body windshield gaskets went from being a $75 piece to a $300 plus piece if you could find one.

Dale's has been in the process of restructuring since last Spring and has dropped a number of quality pieces.  Some of the pieces have been picked up by others, but not to his quality.  Most of us who have been involved with the reproduction side of the business are now in the 55 to 70 year old range.  Very few in the 35 to 54 years old are actively in the mix bringing new product to mix.

So I know that I am buying any parts that I foresee needing for any of my cars.  If you can afford to squirrel away the parts, I cannot foresee the value of them ever dropping drastically if stored correctly.
