Just tried to make a purchase at Roseville and it told me the coupon code doesn't exist. Anyone else run into this?

Just got off the phone with Jon at Roseville and he says code is no more. He didn't elaborate, so what has happened there?

There is a discount at Roseville if you mention the E-body site, but you have to talk to a person & not order online....Joe

That didn't seem to be the case. I spoke to Jon and he made no mention of a discount. He said code is gone. If they are offering it when talking directly to them, why didn't he mention that? Definitely need clarification here.

I contacted my usual sales guy last week about trunk drop offs, and he said for now the discount code is no more. It's been steadily declining for a couple of years, 20, then 15, then 10 and now gone. I was fortunate enough to get my last big purchase with the 10% and my first with 20%. Saved me a ton of cash. I'll still buy from them when I can, they've been very good to me and I'm a loyal kind of guy. Straight shooters and always helpful.

I contacted John at Roseville about discounts for E-bodies group member discount. He indicated that the discount has been suspended. It may return if business gets better. I suspect with Ryan & his father going to Mancini, that had to hurt business for Roseville Moparts.....Joe

Most of the vendors and manufacturers that we deal with are all seeing a slow down in the restoration market place.  There is a variety of reasons for this and I am sure that these vendors are struggling with how to maintain market share with ever increasing cost of product.  Even before the talk of tariffs, one of the major suppliers within the restoration hobby passed down a major price increase across its product line which averaged 41% and they implemented a program based on product quantity to achieve the maximum discount level.  For the vendor to achieve that discount, the vendor will have to purchase at least 100 units of each piece to achieve the maximum discount which was still higher than the last year price by 7% without any restrictions on the required quantity.  Even for the retail giants like a Classic Industries, they may not sell 100 units of a given product to achieve that discount level.

From the manufacturer side, we see the increase in cost of the raw materials to build the finished product.  Almost all manufacturers and vendors are seeing a 4 to 7% increase in the cost of product.  For all of us, it is a decision that we have to make as to keep the product available and the lights on.  Unless you are the direct manufacturer, then these cost increases, are forcing the vendor to rethink the business strategy.  Some are deciding to discontinue certain price incentives, some are deciding to no longer stock certain product lines and some are deciding to sell a lesser quality piece at a comparable price.  It will place more emphasis on the buyer to do the legwork to get the best product for the investment and will also require the vendor to be equally searching out the best fit for their business model so that can prosper as well.

During the Covid period, manufacturers and vendors were overwhelmed with demand for product as people were stuck at home and looking for a means to get projects started or completed.  Now we are seeing another change in the industry as people are unsure of the financial outlook with an aging buyer.  We are seeing some impulse buying as people are afraid that product will only continue to increase in price or it will be discontinued completely.  And then there are those who are saying they will just sit it out and hope that things will return back to a semi-normal.  We can only wait and see and hope for the best for everyone.
