So, is this the 423rd built challenger in 1970?  Vin being 100423.

NO....it's the 423rd scheduled car at Hamtramck for the 1970 model year

NO NO....it's the 423rd ASSIGNED VIN at Hamtramck for the 1970 model year
- best guess (w/o a broadcast sheet) would have it built ~3rd week of August (around 5,000th produced car)
it would've been on display at the regional DENVER zone dealer  ONLY preview ANNOUNCEMENT show - A.K.A. "PROMO" CAR
PER THE SELLER: it appears JH23L0B100423 & JS27V0B100424 were at DENVER

it is the JH23 "Challenger hardtop" equivalent to the better known JS27 "R/T convertibles" in red/red 440+6 4-speed

here's a promotional record from the 1970 show & the schedule for the 1972 shows  :takealook:

& another ERROR in the listing - it was not "PRE PRODUCTION"

but it does appear to have been SOLD!!   hope it gets a quality restoration!

That's funny....I was trying to find a word that would satisfy YOU :yessir: ...I had written 423rd "built" car, but I knew that wouldn't be right either...so I said "scheduled" for a lack of a better term.
My point was that it is a number for ALL cars built in the factory, not just Challengers. :brainiac:

Wow!  That is some really cool info!  Thanks for sharing.

So it's a Denver promo car.  Even better.
