I agree with all of these comments. I like looking at all the ads, the good deals, the crazy ads and just seeing what's out there. It is very tempting for a novice to buy one of these desirable over priced cars because of the cheap in their eyes price now. Reality sets in usually after your to deep into it to realize it wasn't such a good deal. I've paid more then they're worth for projects but unfortunately sometimes you just gotta have it!

My theory is that there are just more people that can get 20 right now and spend money as they go on the car. With muscle cars being able to be financed now, you think that would be different. Idk.

Where's the "nail on the head" emoji when you need one....... ;)

There a only a few people wanting a Mopar that can get their hands on $50K+ to fulfill their dreams....so everybody else looks at these project cars and thinks....Wow $15K or $20K....I can borrow that from the bank and then just fix the car up myself....
Then they find out later just how expensive a restoration can be and either bail out or keep spending only learning years later that the $50K car was a much better deal.... :headbang:

I often preach the high cost of restoration on here only to educate people before they make that project purchase....and I'm often countered by people who, although they have never actually done it, say they can do a full restoration for $25K  :haha:
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

I have always felt you should never borrow money for a hobby car. I do see though that it is actually a better choice financially to (smartly) buy a properly finished car and make a payment on it. Nowadays you save up the $20k for a POS left for dead parts car and your monthly payements finding overpriced parts for it will exceed your payment on a done car.
However, most of us really enjoy building the cars so buying a done car takes most of the fun out of it.

I remember a guy in CO. who had a white Cuda who posted on the previous website.

It was pretty much nick named; the Swiss Cheese Cuda.

I actually felt sorry for him, because I knew he was upside down on it.
