Is it just me or does this vin tag look a little " off"

Car has been on Craigslist for 5-6 months.  Very nice car but isn't that a big premium for a 383 hardtop regardless of the dash vin which is also drawing questions on the Facebook pages

Seller is pricing it like the top goes down or else like it has 3 carbs.
VIN tag looks strange, so does the vinyl top and radiator hose for that matter.
$55-60K tops though two drunks at an auction might bid it higher.

They need to go on e-bay and order one from the Netherlands as that one isn`t even close to correct looking. Experts - engine block stamp look factory?

Really nice car aside from the vin tag. I don't know if I can remember ever seeing a car ad with that many detailed photos.

Didn't the Chrysler VIN tags use a flat topped 8? Or am I dreaming?

Yes, my Challengers and even my '78 Magnum have flat topped 8's in their VINs.

Yup, the "8" has a flat top.
