Anyone have any experience with Instrument Services Inc for gauge repair / restoration?

Instrument Services Inc

They have an NOS Clock for sale - said they bought out the old stock from Borg, the original maker, are there any model year differences to be aware of?  I have mine, so restoration is probably cheaper

Interesting, that's not far from me, but I'm not familiar with them.
I'll ask around.

My friend who's a Mopar guy and lives in Rockford which is adjacent to where that business is says he's very familiar with them.  He says it's been 25 to 30 years since he talked to anybody who had anything done by them, but they were great.
Borg Instruments who made OE clock movements for the big 3 was in nearby Delavin Wisconsin, and they bought a lot of NOS parts from them.

Interesting... Red Line and Just Dashes are both in my area, so probably would make more sense going that route.  Anyone have any opinion on restoring vs. using OER or similar?

Not sure of cost comparison, but wondering would anyone really notice?

Are you looking for a clock, or to have one restored?
Back when I was restoring my car there were lots of places doing quartz conversions. In fact, there was a local Mopar guy doing gauge and electrical restoration I used a number of times. He moved to another town a little further away, though still semi local, and said he was going to get set up and back in operation at some point, but I don't think he ever did.
But it's not a rare service in the hobby that only a couple guys do.

I have an NOS Oil and Water gauge and was thinking of buying the NOS clock for ease, but at $350 might be cheaper to have mine redone.  My cluster is complete, just needs to be restored - and actually, everything works so I  COULD just leave it alone.

At this point I am thinking I might paint the jambs, interior and engine bay so I can get the damn thing assembled

Instrument Services did a quartz conversion years ago on my Challenger rallye clock. It still works great and keeps perfect time... :bigthumb:

I reached out to both for quotes and will likely just rebuild my originals with one of the local CA guys that are well known here - thanks!

I had my standard cluster cleaned and restored by Redline a few years back, and was very pleased with the price, quality and communication from Redline. The company also put in a new digital circuit board and also an electric oil pressure gauge, that looks exactly like what the other factory gauges look like. Good luck on your cluster restoration.
