Hello,

I have a '71 Cuda with A/C, Rear Defroster and Road Lamps.  I'm not the original owner and therefore, I'm at the mercy of work done before me.  The Road Lamps work so that is not an issue.  My question is, where should the switch be located?  Currently it is under the A/C control panel, which may or may not be correct.

Today I received my copy of the "E Body 1970-74 Reference Manual, Guide to Fasteners and General Assembly" book and it has a few pictures of the switch and those pictures show the switch in 2 different locations....  If you have the book:

Page 4.8.1-2 - 17, the bottom 2 pictures show the switch above the heater controls.
Page 4.8.1-2 - 19, the bottom right picture shows it under the heater controls.
Page 4.8.1-2 - 21, bottom right picture shows it above the heater controls.

So where does it go?  Is it different for Cuda/Challenger? or does it move depending on A/C or non-A/C? or maybe even if the 4th switch is present (convertible/rear defroster)? or something else?....

I'm going to be swapping out the radio in a few weeks and figure since I will have the bottom right side of the dash apart I may as well put that switch in the correct location (if there is one).

Thanks for the help,
John.

6bblgt

the difference is rallye dash VS. STANDARD

NO "road lamps" on Challenger   :stop:

6bblgt,

As I have the Rallye gauges then I'm assuming w/ Standard the switch is above and and on Rallye the switch is below the A/C/Heater controls.  Correct?  Hoping this is correct as that means I don't have to move it.

Thanks,
John.

Correct location for your 1971 Cuda with Rallye gauges is on the bottom of the dash frame :alan2cents:
